Talent Show or Baseball Game?

This was posted by Mr. Awesome. Definitely check out this video. If this happened at baseball games more often, I would totally go more. It's the teams trying to one up eachother. Skits include the Shake-Weight commercial, a fake WWF wrestling match and a fake rollercoaster ride,

Go here to watch the video.

Wishful Wedesday

'I wish' .... I could go back and spend one day working at a job from my youth, and it would be from
Wells Fargo as a Teller
I looooved the people I worked with and my managers were great. I requested time off all the time and they happily obliged. All of the other employees were my age and went to Sac State. One of the girls joined my sorority and one of the guys joined Mr. Awesome's fraternity.
When my friend and I would get bored, we would hit ourselves with staplers (jokingly of course) from across the room. Good times at Wells Fargo!

Pinkberry in the 916!!!!

I don't think you understand my excitement. Thank you, Pinkberry for listening to my earlier post. I was ranting earlier here and they apparently heard me.

Next, I would like to win the lottery. Thanks!

Text From My Brother

Simply awesome.

Bad Habits Can Age you by 12 Years, Study Suggests

I saw this article on Yahoo! and I totally agree with maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and these are definitely great points:

"The risky behaviors were: smoking tobacco; downing more than three alcoholic drinks per day for men and more than two daily for women; getting less than two hours of physical activity per week; and eating fruits and vegetables fewer than three times daily."

However, later in the story, it has this quote:

"The U.S. government generally recommends at least 4 cups of fruits or vegetables daily for adults, depending on age and activity level; and about 2 1/2 hours of exercise weekly."

Wait, what? The U.S. government? Just saying.

Kristen Wiig is Hilarious

Speaking of hilarious SNL skits, this one might be my favorite. Of course there are some old school ones that are awesome, but as of late, I think this one takes the cake. I think you'll agree.

Saturday Night Live - The Lawrence Welk Show - Video -

Medley of TGIF Theme Songs

Although Jimmy Fallon couldn't keep a straight face during ANY skit on SNL, this is very, very awesome. It might actually make up for it. You all totally know what I'm talking about. Remember when you were excited for Friday night TV? I do.

Maybe There is More to Life?

Derek: Did you ever think that maybe there's more to life...than being really, really, ridiculously good-looking? Maybe we should be doing something more meaningful with our lives.Like helping people.

Models: Uh, Derek, what people?

Derek: I don't know. People who need help.

Models: Models help people. They make them feel good about themselves. They also show them how to dress cool...and wear their hair in interesting ways.

Derek: I guess so.

Models: You know what could really help you sort through these important issues?

Derek: What?

Models together: Orange mocha frappuccino!

*Cue Jitterbug song!*

Asparagus Festival!

Mr. Awesome and I went to the Stockton Asparagus Festival today. The weather was amazing, and the food was even better. We plan on going again next year, mostly for the $5 beers and deep fried asparagus, pictured below. We also picked up some fresh asparagus to enjoy. Probably steamed though, much less points that way. :)

Happy Earth Day!

In honor of Earth Day, I decided to make a pledge for a better tomorrow. From now on, I will get my coffee in a reusable mug. When Christmastime rolls around, I will definitely be purchasing a red cup. I just love when the red cups come out.

Are you doing anything for Earth Day?

Baking with Kyle

Kyle, the Frosting Queen came over to help me hide my "non-pretty" cupcakes for a shower I was hosting. She taught me the ways. The boys had fun playing together and Toby didn't violate Oscar all night. Just for part of it.

I Like It

Be who you are and say what you feel,
because those who mind don't matter

and those who matter don't mind.”

~ Dr.Seuss

*Fun Fact: Dr. Seuss was a Sig Ep, just like Mr. Awesome

This is why we're fat, America

Really? This is just disgusting. You can order this while sitting on your butt in a drive thru. Oh, and the meal comes with fries. Really?

Accoriding to, "The new KFC Double Down sandwich is real! This one-of-a-kind sandwich features two thick and juicy boneless white meat chicken filets (Original Recipe® or Grilled), two pieces of bacon, two melted slices of Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheese and Colonel's Sauce. This product is so meaty, there’s no room for a bun!"

Wishful Wednesday...a little late this week

I wish' .... I had the willpower to

stay on one particular diet,

and it would be _______!

South Beach Diet! It's a lean protein, low carb diet that really works! The problem is that once you start eating carbs again, all the weight comes back on. So, if I could stick with it, it would be fabulous. A great way to lose a quick 10 pounds in two weeks though.

Lidia's Italy

So apprently this famous chef has a TV show and is quite the phenomenon. Her name is Lidia, and although not the bombshell like, Giada, she makes some delicious pasta. She has restaurants in New York and.....Kansas City, Missouri? Whaaaat?

Hey, it worked out for me. My amazing client suggested it and I obliged, considering my love for Italian food. Ok, pretty much any food. But the celebrity part intrigued me more to be honest.

They have a daily trio tasting of different pastas, and that seems to be the big draw. I couldn't resist. The first one was a linguine type with shrimp, the second a spinach/ricotta ravioli (our favorite) and the third a penne with tomato sauce and linguica. Simply amazing, and luckily got me through 7 hours of travel.

Here comes the Bride....

My Uncle, who is like a father to me, got married last Saturday in a last minute ceremony. I'm really happy for him, as he deserves happiness. And a super young and hot bride to boot? You go, Timmy.

p.s. Sorry about the small size, it gets pixelated if I make it bigger,

You're where?!

I'm in the middle of Missouri in O'Fallon. My rental car starts shaking and beeping while I'm on the Highway. I have Starbucks punched into the GPS since it's the only one in a 75 mile radius and I'm jonesing for a Skinny Vanilla Latte.

I pull of the freeway and my car is shaking uncontrollably. Knowing that next time I stop is going to be my home for a few hours, I continued to Starbucks, 1.4 miles off the road. Not even joking. Apparently the Engine Malfunction light is flashing at me and "it's a serious problem" according to the DOLLAR rent a car people. This car has 8 miles on it. E-I-G-H-T.

So needless to say, I'm sitting in a Starbucks waiting for my new car to be towed to me. Awesome.

Really, Really, Ridiculously Good Looking...

Toby got a new nametag! I recieved this picture in a text message with:

Mr. Awesome: He keeps biting at it.
Me: He's so cute. I feel better having a collar on him.
Mr. Awesome: Yeah for sure. He just needs to get used to it.
Me: That's such a cute pic!
Mr. Awesome: He sat like a good little man.
Me: He always does. I really think he should model.
Mr. Awesome: Haha. You should get him a job.
Me: Ok, I'll pimp him out.
Mr. Awesome: He needs to earn his keep 'round here anyway.
Me: Haha

Business Trips + Losing Weight = HARD

I was just worrying about this. Perfect. Weight Watchers rocks my world.

Staying Slim on Business Trips

It's so easy to suspend your sensible-eating and exercise habits when you're on the road. But there are ways to stay on track while traveling - even when your job routinely jets you from coast to coast.
Even though you've been eating so well lately, this is where it ends. You just learned that next week you've got to hit the road for work. Might as well kiss all that progress goodbye — business travel and weight-loss do not play well together.

As a management and organization consultant, Gail Griffith spends about four days a month on the road. But, as a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, she makes the extra effort to stay on track when she's traveling. Ironically, says the Baltimore-based executive, "sometimes traveling can be easier because it requires so much more planning. I never go anywhere without food."

  • Pack a Smart Snack
A compact cooler stocked with carrots, vegetables and healthy snacks accompanies Griffith in her car up and down the East Coast. Because she snacks, she's not starving by the time that calorie-filled business dinner rolls around. A wise tactic, observes Dale Huss, a registered dietitian and American Council on Exercise spokesperson. Skipping meals is a very common diet trap. It leaves you ravenous by mealtime and more likely to overeat.
  • Cocktail Hour Traps
But overeating at mealtime is just one thing to watch out for when you are on the go. "Alcohol is one of the biggest ways to get off track," says Huss. Aside from adding nutritionally bankrupt calories, he says, drinking lowers your ability to resist tempting foods, "so you're likely to consume more."

  • Workout Worries
On the road, exercise can become a low priority. What's worse, when you finally get home, it can take a week to build back up to your usual routine. There are so many distractions: Work has piled up in the office, the house needs attention and the kids missed you. It's easy to let exercise take a back seat.

Healthy Tricks of the Travel Trade

There are, however, ways to beat the temptations:

  • Don't forget your sneakers. Pack workout clothes so you don't have an excuse to blow off exercise.

  • Healthy hotels. Book a hotel with a gym. If it's not possible, do a few sets of push-ups and sit-ups in your room. Or ask the concierge to direct you to the nearest safe park for a daily walk or jog.

  • Light in flight. Request low-fat meals on airplanes. Or, go a different route: Buy a salad with grilled chicken at the airport and eat it onboard with your own low-fat dressing.

  • Snack power. Power bars and peanuts (in moderation), bottled water, fresh vegetable sticks and fruit can prevent hunger between meals.

  • Buffeting buffets. The good thing about huge buffets is that, well, they're huge. Usually you can put together a diet-friendly meal somewhere along the mile-long display.

  • Just say no. Request water or seltzer with a twist instead of alcohol when traveling, especially on the plane. Water keeps you hydrated and may help you recover from jet lag faster. The result: You'll have more energy and motivation to exercise.

  • Moving plans. Put exercise on your schedule, and treat it like a business meeting that cannot be missed.

  • In the swim. Most large hotels and conference centers have a pool. Use it. It's a great whole-body workout. (But, if a dip is in your plans, don't forget to pack a swimsuit and goggles along with your workout clothes.)

  • Think out of the box. This might be your best defense. On a recent trip to Chicago, Gail Griffith realized that there wouldn't be time to exercise unless she made time. While packed shuttles transported her colleagues to nearby meetings, Griffith opted to walk. "I'd rather move than sit," she says. One night in Pittsburgh, she scheduled a 'walking meeting' with a coworker in a park. Walking meetings have now become part of their routine.

You Know You're in Escrow When...

You think this is a cruel April Fool's Joke:
