New Year, New Me

Since I now have the body of a 5 month pregnant woman (I'M NOT PREGNANT), I know something needs to be done. Jeff and I decided to get an elliptical for our gym and actually USE it is our goal for 2010. I went on it last night, and also did arms and abs. I'm proud of myself and I have short shorts, tank tops and the mirror in front of me to keep me motivated. Have you ever watched yourself work out? It's very distracting disgusting motivating. Here's to the PWW (Post Wedding Weight) going BUH-BYE. Forever. I'm done with the yo-yo. Cheers (with water!) to 2010!

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas this year! We ended up going down to the bay area for Christmas Eve at Grandma Dent's house. We got to spend some time with our cutie niece, Jade! She is growing so fast and getting more adorable by the minute!

I was super excited to get to Mr. Awesome's parents house on Christmas Day to see that I am now completely official! I have my very own stocking on their mantle. I know, it only took 10 years but this made my day. All the stockings are hand made by his Aunt Diane and now I'm part of it. : )

Since Toby and Jade are cousins, they share toys and clothes. What, is that not normal? So Toby tried out Jade's new super fun pink Radio Flyer from her awesome Aunt and Uncle. We couldn't help but put him on the rocking horse too. He likes it, don't you think?

Sweet Child O' Mine

This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie "Step Brothers" with Will Ferrell. This is the younger brothers family who seems to be the "Perfect Family" driving their Range Rover and two children. In reality the wife hates her life, the Dad is a total idiot and the kids are rude and obnoxious. Just reminds you of what is really important in life. Also, the song gets stuck in your head so you're welcome in advance.

Hip Hop Elves

So it's that time of year where it is totally acceptable to create elf versions of yourself. This year I thought the Hip Hop dance moves were the best. My favorite part is when Toby and I do the worm. Check it out and have a laugh on us.

Happy Birthday Kyle!

My fabulous friend Kyle (and also my BFF Kaila's roomie) who has inspired me to start my very own blog and become a Tweet-a-holic (yes, I just made that up) had her famous Birthday Party on Saturday. It started with us girls gathering at Simone's new house, then heading to her wonderful parents who prepared us a delicious meal. The table was decorated so cute and they had all sorts of cocktails waiting for us; however we chose wine, natch. After dinner we headed back to Simone's house for more wine, cotton candy, ice cream sundaes, gossip and more wine. Yes, we had a cotton candy machine from one of her friends! It was quite delicious I must say.

A wonderful time was had by all, and I'm glad she liked the cupcake necklace I got her!

Delicious Mistake

The time came for our Christmas Potluck with friends. I love this dinner because we bring delicious carb-filled dishes and just enjoy each others company. This year as an appetizer I wanted to  make a baked brie. I couldn't find phyllo dough so I wasn't sure what to do. I also purchased all of the ingredients for Monkey Bread and had everything in the fridge. Yum! Since I didn't have anything else I decided to use the crescent dough to wrap the brie in and then bake it for 25 minutes. Holy Heavenly Deliciousness. I couldn't get enough of it and everyone else loved it too!

I'm happy everything tunred out great and to have such wonderful people in my life. : )

Christmas Cards??

Why did Christmas come so fast this year? I JUST ordered our cards to send out. Pretty sure they won't be out in time for Christmas, but guess who's over it? Yep. Me. Merry Christmas!!!

Toby's long lost brother!

So I guess my Aunt has this thing for buying random pillows all the time. News to me. It drives my Uncle nuts, and he keeps a closet full of them then gives them away to Goodwill. My mom was over last weekend and found a pillow that looked EXACTLY like Toby. My mom had to have it and brought it home to me. We seriously laughed for about 30 minutes posing Toby with his twin, trying to get a decent shot. Jeff and I do double takes because we think it is actually Toby on the couch. Too funny, and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

My Winter Wonderland...

Last weekend Mr. Awesome's boss let us use his cabin in Tahoe for the weekend. Awesome, right? I've never actually been in a snow storm, so this was a new experience for me. We loaded up on groceries junk food, and planned on staying in all weekend. We watched movies, played board games, ate, drank wine and played in the snow. It was a perfect weekend of doing nothing and enjoying the elements. Sad part? The snow was too light to make a decent snowman. Boo!

A Fun Little Song

When you're pants are a little tight and your shirts don't fit right....DIET! DIET!

When you feel like wearing sweatpants and lounging on the couch....GYM! GYM!

When you can't fit out the door and you want to just lay on the floor...DIET! DIET!

When you look in the mirror and you want to run from here...GYM! GYM!

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

For years I have seen pics and read about these, but I finally got to attend my first Ugly Christmas Sweater Party last weekend. It's pretty funny how creative people can get. From plucking a poinsettia flower to buying out JoAnn's Fabric, it was hilarious.

Mr. Awesome and I searched far and wide for the perfect sweaters, but had no luck at Goodwill. Go figure? So we decided old ladies shop at Kohl's and knew there had to be a gem there somewhere. Luckily, we found the same one in both of our sizes. That's right, we had matching sweaters. Awesome. Everyone else thought so too. We got second place.

Babies, babies, babies!

My friend Colleen Renwick from college is having her first baby! It's a little girl named Chloe (due in January) and she is going to be the cutest dressed kid in all the land. Seriously. So cute.

Jen Mallory and I had matching outfits, so we had to document the occasion.

The other pic is of me rocking my double chin, or what my BFF calls "Happy Weight." Hers is boyfriend weight gain or BWG, and mine is post-wedding idon'treallycarewhati'meatingi'mhungry weight. Regardless, my pants don't fit. Therefore, Boot Camp tomorrow it is.

Have cupcakes, will travel

So I know it's been a little while, but I attended a National Conference in San Diego mid-November. Normally this is a crazy-fun stay up until 3am drink fest, but this year was a little different. Not sure if it's because the economy, or title companies (aka My Company) isn't allowed to purchase alcohol for clients anymore. Ummm, I'm going to go with the latter. Anyway, I had a great time catching up with co-workers and continuing to solidify our relationships with the major players in the industry.

The cupcakes (from Heavenly Cupcakes!!!) were an homage to Fross for her birthday, but were sadly not eaten by her. 3 were mysteriously missing and I'm sure we will never know who it was...

The Blueberry Martini was had at the Hard Rock Cafe. It was so delicious, I had to capture the yumminess. Best part? There was another entire glass in the shaker.

A New Way to Birthday?

I think my friend Kyle will appreciate this.

Me: Where you wanna go momma?
Fross: How bout La Bou? It’s easy and cheap : )
Me: Oh, good idea! What about Panera? There is a lot more room. It’s right on Howe as well.
Fross: Yeah…but I don’t have La Bou by me anymore. : ( Can I play that card?!
Me: Ok, ok. You ARE special. Being pregnant is like having a birthday for 9 months. : )
Fross: HAHA - true.

Baking with Mom

So my Mom has been telling me for years that I need to learn how to make a pie crust. Since I have lots of fun toys for the kitchen now that I was able to register, it makes cooking and baking much less painful.

So this Sunday (during boring Football), she made the trek down from Auburn to teach me her tricks. I also thought this would be a perfect time to make the Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Muffin recipe I found online. She even brought her very own matching apron!

The muffins turned out amazing, minus one little blunder. I was only supposed to put half of the batter in, then the cream cheese, then the rest of the batter. I MAY have forgotten to do that. Bless her heart, she scooped out half of the batter and we then proceeded to put the filling inside. It still wasn't as deep as I would have liked but still turned out amazing! Very moist and delicious. The crumb topping doesn't hurt either. Mmmm.
The pie crust turned out amazing, but the cherry part didn't work out so well. We used the canned cherry pie filling and I think less of the liquid would have been better. It's still delicious though!

Serious Questions

So being in the tough economic times we are in, instead of paying $79 for a new pair of shoes, I decided (ok, Jeff made me) to get them repaired. $25 later and they are just like new. Awesome!

Me: Can you pick up my shoes at the repair place today?
Mr. Awesome: Sure.
Mr. Awesome: You mean, pick them up at the Cobbler's?
Me: Haha, yeah I guess so.
Mr. Awesome: Why don't we still call them Cobbler's?
Mr. Awesome: That's what they are, right? They fix shoes.
Me: Maybe because people would get them confused with the delicious dessert.
Mr. Awesome: Mmmmmm, cobbler.

America's Next Top Model (ANTM)

Ok, so I am completely obsessed with this awesome show. Shown above is one of my favorite shoots. These girls represented the 7 Deadly Sins. And they were literally in a grave.

Say what you will about Tyra Banks, but she is a savvy business-woman. She knows what she is talking about. I love everything about this show. The drama, competition, amzing make-up and hair, the fashion, the "smize" and "modeling H2T." All of it is fabulous.

I think Tyra should do a face model competition. Maybe I could try out? My eyes are very unique and my lips are pretty amazing too. Aaaaaand that's about it for a modeling sense. Still, it would be pretty fab to be on the show. I keep trying to get Ashley or Amy to do it. Someday I will...someday.

NEW MOON is COMING!!!!!

rob pattinson and kristen stewart Pictures, Images and Photos

So, I know the whole Twlight Saga was originally for teenie boppers, but I really enjoyed the series. It was an easy read and gets you sucked in fairly quickly. Plus, the sexual chemistry these two have on-screen (and supposedly off-screen too) is palpable.

Can't wait for New Moon to come out in theatres!!!! I will be there. Don't judge me.

Adventures of Mr. Awesome

So I'm really excited that my Husband decided to start a blog. You can find him at http://www.adventuresofmrawesome.blogspot.com/. He's pretty awesome.

Dog Snuggies are Awesome

Every loved dog deserves their very own Snuggie. Mom has hers too...a super soft fleece one, chocolate brown in color.

My Bloggy Blog

So, I've decided to really start blogging. I feel like I have so much to share with the world and it's not reaching anyone. So this is my new blog, where I talk about my adventures, ideas, dreams, goals and things I think are funny. Which is a lot. I like to find the humor in most things and avoid negativity.
This is me and my husband. I recently got married and am loving life.
Welcome to my world!
