Favorite Friday's...De-Stressing!

Favorite Fridays

Favorite Friday's...Favorite Way to De-Stress

I looooove getting massages and facials! It's so relaxing and you have nothing else to think about...

Another (less indulgent) favorite is curling in bed with the fan on high and reading a good book.

Currently I'm reading "My Horizontal Life" by Chelsea Handler. Next up is "Pretty in Plaid" by Jen Lancaster.

My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands

Pretty in Plaid: A Life, A Witch, and a Wardrobe, or, the Wonder Years Before the Condescending, Egomaniacal, Self-Centered Smart-Ass Phase

To join in the fun, head over to Jen's blog!

Bachelor Pad

I'm so happy the execs over at ABC realized we love watching beautiful/crazy/unstable people search for love. And what better premise than taking the most drama-filled contestants and putting them together in a house. I mean...genius really.

I can't believe this is only the first season. Bring on the heartbreak, hookups, tears and roses.

Favorite Friday's...Friends Character!

Favorite Friends Character...JOEY!

Well, since this is one of my ALL-TIME favorite shows, I thought about this for a long time. All of them have hilarious and lovable qualities, but there is just something about Joey!

He is hysterical, constantly auditioning for ridiculous acting roles, always borrowing money, in love with food (sandwiches!!!!), an incessant flirt and down right good guy.

How could you not love Joey?!

Some of my favorite quotes:

Of course...."How You Doin'"

Joey: In my spare time, I, uh, read to the blind. And I'm also a mento for kids.
Interviewer: A "mento"?
Joey: You know, a mento. A role model.
Interviewer: A men…to.
Joey: Right.
Interviewer: Like the candy?
Joey: As a matter of fact, I do.

I believe this is the episode he puts the raw turkey on his head. Hilarious!

Monica: Also, just so you know, I'm not making a turkey this year.
Joey: What?
Monica: Well, Phoebe doesn't eat turkey...
Joey: Phoebe!
Phoebe: Turkeys are beautiful, intelligent animals.
Joey: No, they're not! They're ugly and stupid and delicious!

Joey: The question, Rachel, is this: does he like you? Otherwise, it's just a moo point.
Rachel: A moo point?
Joey: You know, like a cow's opinion. It doesn't matter. It's moo.
Rachel: Have I been living with him too long, or did all that just make sense?

Joey: If the Homo sapiens were, in fact, homo sapiens, is that why they're extinct?
Ross: Joey, Homo sapiens are people.
Joey: Hey hey, I'm not judging!

Aaaaand my favorite quote:

Ross: Meat on a dessert? That is not possible.
Joey Tribbiani: I know, and only one layer of jam? What is up with that?
Ross: It tastes like feet!
Joey Tribbiani: Well, I like it.
Ross: Are you kidding?
Joey Tribbiani: I mean, what's not to like? Custard, good. Jam, good. Meat, good!

Weekend in Review

Yes, I realize it's Wednesday but I wanted to re-cap the amazing events that took place....

Friday night, we went to the Rivercats game to cheer on our favorite hot close AAA baseball team. We wanted to get the party started early (read cheaper than $8 a beer) so we decided to tailgate beforehand. BIG MISTAKE. Apparently Yolo county prohibits tailgaiting. I didn't even know that was a law? Well, now you know.

We finished up our beverages and headed in for $1 hot dog night! I of course had my pink claw ready to cheer on the team. It makes it diffucult to carry a hot dog and beer though. :) We ended up giving the claw to the little boy in front of us because he LOVED LOVED LOVED the thing and I couldn't bear taking it back from him.

After that we headed over to a local sushi restaurant because Mr. Awesome's friends were there. Fun times. There were maraschino cherries, diet coke, tunnels, roofie colada's and male on male slow dancing going on. Fun way to end a Friday.

Saturday we went to brunch with the in-laws and ran a couple errands. Then we came home cleaned the house and I napped for a couple hours. Ahhhhh. We met up with some friends at our favorite Mexican place and enjoyed delicious margaritas! We decided against bowling or mini-golf, and ended up going to the Indian casino nearby that just recently expanded.

We all agreed it would be a great idea to have a few drinks in the car beforehand. Again, we thought it would be cheaper. Yes, I realize we aren't 18 and don't need to do this anymore, but it sounded fun. Then we got a booth and proceeded to drink until 1:30am. Let's just say, tequila, champagne and vodka don't go so well together.

One of the most hilarious comments of the night was when two guys asked if my Asian friend, Jen was Party Pics! I almost died laughing. I mean, she does have a giant camera with a HUGE flash. I can see how one would be confused.

Needless to say, Sunday was spent relaxing at home. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!

Top 2 Tuesday...Simple Pleasures

Top 2 Simple Pleasures

1. Lazy Weekend Days

Don't get me wrong, I love having a fun-filled, jam-packed weekend but it's nice to relax also. Sleeping in, cuddling with the boys, a late brunch, a leisurely bike ride, laying by the pool and watching a movie in an air conditioned house...is a nice change of pace. :)

2. Clean Sheets

There is just something about the warm and crisp feeling of freshly washed sheets. Especially in the winter when they are fresh out of the dryer...love that feeling!

Schedule Much?

While doing my expense report I noticed I visited the same client at the exact same time on two separate occasions. How crazy is that?!

I'm such a creature of habit...i need to mix it up a bit I think. :)

Beautiful Sunset!

You can't tell in this picture, but it's pink and purple. Gorgeous!!!!

Top 2 Tuesday...Favorite Perfume!

1. Pink by Victoria's Secret

This has been a staple scent for a LONG time! I just love the way it smells...so feminine and delicate.

2. Island Bermuda by Michael Kors

I read in one of my bajillion bridal magazines to get a special scent to always remember your wedding day/honeymoon. I picked out this fragrance and it was PERFECT! Even to this day I think about our amazing vacation whenever I wear this. Isn't it amazing how different smells bring back the best memories?

Honorable Mentions...

Maybe Baby by Benefit...

Aqua di Gio by Giorgio Armani...for Mr. Awesome

What are your favorites?

Strawberry Champagne Cupcakes

I finally got the urge to make these delicious sounding cupcakes on Friday night. I blogged about it awhile ago, but have been so busy I didn't have the time to make them.

I will say they didn't turn out the way I'd hoped. The cupcake recipe itself was to DIE for. So yummy, and I think it was the addition of Olive Oil instead of butter. Could be wrong, but these were really moist and rose perfectly.

The glaze is another story. I think I made it to early, and added too much Champagne. Whoopsie. Instead of being a glaze, it kind of just soaked the top and made it spongy. Next time I'll add less Champagne and wait until the very last second to make the glaze.

Maybe a whipped cream frosting would be delicious too???? Too many ideas, too little time.

Five Question Friday...

I've never participated in Five Question Friday, so I thought

I'd try it out!

1. What were your school colors? High School: Green/Silver/White College: Green/Gold...I love green I guess!

2. What's the best compliment you ever received? This is a hard question. We always focus on the negative and not the positive. Well, I do at least. Probably that I am a genuine person.

3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper? Charmin ALL the way! We did the Costco cheap version and I complained until I got my way. :)

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Nope! Or have you had one for someone else? And a no. :)

5. What is one material possession that you "can't live without"? Definitely my cell phone. Or a Coach purse. Is that shallow? Haha

Favorite Fridays...Healthy Snack!

Favorite Fridays...Healthy Snack!

I wouldn't say it was a snack, but more of a meal replacement...Pure Protein bars! They are delicious, have 20g of protein and keep me full for a long time. I drink them with 16oz of water and it makes a HUGE difference.

I've been eating these for lunch lately, and it helps keep my calories and weight in check. They were recommended by a trainer who "eats clean" so you know they have to be good for you.

I really like the chocolate chip ones, and they have a peanut butter one too. You can get them here!

Share the Awesomeness

Awesomeness is not given.  It is the inherent ability to be awesome.  Some of us have it, some of us don't.  Those that try to attain awesomeness through works and deeds will never be as awesome as those who are born with it.  I truly feel you were born to be awesome and that is why your awesomeness is so truly profound.  I would know, because I am awesome too.  This is not bragging, I am simply stating the truth. Ever heard the expression, "Takes one to know one"?  This was made explicitly for awesome people to find those with true awesomeness. Unfortunately, there are more morons in this world than those that are truly awesome; so its true meaning has been lost through time.

Go forth and let others bask in the glory of your awesomeness.  They will truly be better people by just looking at you in your complete awesomeness.  Let your awesomeness let others know how truly awesome they are not, and take pity on them and make them your servants, for this will bring true meaning to their lives.  I have wasted my lunch writing this email, and that is totally awesome.

Please feel free to share this awesome email chain with anyone who is truly awesome.  Those that are not awesome have no business reading these glorious passages.  Their eyes would completely burn out of their heads from the truly beautiful and awesome words that are written on these pages.  They would blaze forth in such awesome glory that the un-awesome would be reduced to ash.

Be awesome to each other, and your awesomeness will flow forth like rivers of awesome beverage to the mouths of the truly thirsty for the incredible power of awesomeness.  Those that bathe in the flow of awesomeness that are truly awesome will be revived in awesome glory; the un-awesome will perish in the flames of their own self-loathing.

From one person who bathes in awesomeness to another, let no un-awesome being ever steal your awesomeness from you.  Kick them in the kneecap instead.  This would be truly awesome.

"Laughter is like medicine that is loaded with sugar.  It takes the pain away and makes your stomach hurt."

Engagement Pictures

So, we just got the rights to all of our pictures, including our engagement ones! There were a lot of good ones actually so it was hard to decide. I can't believe it was a year since we took these!

We ended up choosing two...one for the framed picture and one for the programs. Here are some of my favorites! Also, if you need a wedding photographer in the Northern California area, call Chris Kight. you won't be disappointed!

Thoughtless Thursday...Shake Weight?

Photobucket

This is my first time posting for Thoughtless Thursday...so here we go.

What is up with all of these As Seen on TV products? I mean, are these things really necessary to life? Now, don't get me wrong, I do have the Magic Bullet, Bump-It and Mr. Awesome just got the Power Washer thing. So clearly some of these items are awesome.

But this....THIS is just not necessary. The Shake Weight. Everytime the commercial comes on, I think it's fake. Too hilarious for words.

This is a parody by SNL. I like this one better. :)

This is the actual ad:

Do any of you have this? And does it work? Be honest!

4th of July!!!

I can't believe I haven't posted about 4th of July!!!!

What an amazing weekend to say the least....here goes!

We celebrated my Niece Jade's 2nd birthday on Saturday the 3rd.. She is getting so big and cuter by the minute! She kept saying she wanted "cake and presents" for her birthday. She loved playing in the park and the swing was by far her favorite.

Here are some highlights:

Then on Sunday morning we headed up to Mr. Awesome's home town for the Annual Parade. It's quite an event and the whole town goes. Pretty cute actually.

Then later that afternoon we had about 30 of our most awesome and fun friendies come over for a BBQ. We had a double slip and slide, an entire crock pot of nacho cheese, a keg, sangria, 85 jello shots and star tattoos. Let's just say it was pretty epic. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the event!

Hope you had a great 4th as well!

Top 2 Tuesday...Items to Purchase!

 Top 2 Items to Purchase

This is definitely a hard one! There are so many things I would LOVE to have, so I guess I will narrow it down to two things...

1. A Boat!
I grew up with a boat, so I know how much fun they are to have. I was also a kid so I didn't know how much work they entailed. Apparently A LOT and they are expensive to keep up. A girl can dream, right? Maybe they have boat rentals, so we could RENT a boat for the day/weekend? Or maybe I need to become friends with boat owners...any takers? I'm pretty fun.

Malibu, CA

Lake Tahoe, CA

Hawaii

2. Vacation Home
Why not shoot for the stars? I would LOVE to have a beach house to jet off to...maybe a cabin in Tahoe, or a beachfront house in Hawaii. Any and all of these are welcome! Again, need to find friends that own these!
